Happy NYE’s everyone! So I have been planning this post for about a month or so, which originally I wanted to have this entry posted before Christmas. However, due to timing with venue and my photographer, I had to delay the post a bit and decided to make it a NYE’s lookbook instead.
Like any girl, I love an excuse to dress up and of course, NYE’s the perfect time to do just that. I’ve chosen a few dresses below that gives you some ideas of what to wear, so you can dazzle and sparkle for your NYE’s celebration.
When planning out this post, I knew I needed the right atmosphere. I also knew which location it was going to be when my friend, Timur, showed me Sax’s website from many months back. I knew I wanted to shoot there some day, but never thought it would be me in front of the camera. I was in awe with the decor then and I was definitely not disappointed when I arrived to the location – it was pretty much straight out of Moulin Rouge as my photog friend, Nat, put it so nicely. Alright, so enough of the chit chat, let’s get on with the looks, shall we? =)
dress: Bebe (old); shoes: Steve Madden; accessories: F21 necklace; bcbg bow bangle (recent); pandora moonlit serenade ring set
dress: Arden B (old); shoes: Sole Society; clutch: H&M; accessories: Morgan Ashleigh necklace (old); pandora moonlit serenade ring set; Michael Kors buckle bangle (similar)
dress: Nastygal (similar option 1 or 2); clutch: BCBG (recent); shoes: Sam Edelman; accessories: Amrita Singh bracelet (love this version); and Gorjana rings (Gilt)
dress: BCBG (old); shoes: Ann Taylor; accessories: Amrita Singh bracelet (love this version); bcbg belt; Pegasus necklace (thanks to Stella & Dot); gloves (ASOS – borrowed)
I really have to thank the folks at Sax, my friend Timur and my photographer friend Nat for even making this vision of mine come to life, so thank you!! If you need ideas for hairstyles tonight, feel free to check out my 4 Easy NYE’s hairstyle tutorial on that. =)
If you are in the DC area, Sax is a restaurant/lounge conveniently located right near Metro Center station. It’s a great place to catch a burlesque show for Sunday brunch and wouldn’t you know it that there is also a Masquerade ball that you can attend for NYE’s tonight. Now, that is a tempting thought especially knowing how much I love masquerades.
Also, if you girls are ever in DC for a bachelorette party, look no further than Sax. As a special thank you to my readers, Sax has graciously offered a 10% off if you mention this blog when booking an event there. Seriously considering coming here for my bday celebration next year and catching a burlesque show while I’m at it. =D
Anyways, I really hope you all have a great and safe New Year’s Eve tonight! I am looking forward to 2013 and excited to see what the year has in store for me. I will see you next year! =)
