However, I am still trying to catch up on editing past wedding shoots, blogging for both beauty and photo blog, and filming youtube videos that it was hard to find a good time to shoot an OOTD for the challenge. After hearing from Tiffany that it was okay to submit a past OOTD, I went back to see if I did any shoots that illustrated statement pieces and found these photos. My sister had helped me shoot these way back in October when it was still pretty nice and brisk out, but never got around to posting them here. Glad I was able to pull these out and use them for this challenge!
Being 5'1 and petite myself, I used to always prefer jewelry to be dainty, so it doesn't consume my small frame. However, I've since have overcome that and prefer my jewelry to make a statement as well as complete an outfit. My statement piece for this outfit happens to be from Amrita Singh's collection with her Nello necklace. If you haven't seen her collection line by now, she is an Indian designer based out of NYC fusing her culture and art into these jewelry pieces. So far, I own about five or six of her jewelry pieces and have not been disappointed with the quality. The pieces are sturdy, heavy and made with good quality materials.
Top: F21 lace blouse; Bottom: F21 flowy yellow skirt; Shoes: Ann Taylor Perfect Covered Platform Pumps in sz 5 (buy or selling these for $90); Accessories: Amrita Singh Nello necklace (similar), David Yurman cable bracelets (buy and similar, but mine had the diamonds around the hook clapse), F21 love and bow rings, and Tom Ford 'Alexandra' sunglasses (similar)
I love how this skirt moves so freely and the color definitely brightens up my day. I hope you enjoyed this post and this couldn't have come at a better time, since Hautelook is having a jewelry blowout on Amrita Singh's collection starting at noon EST today. It was definitely fun to participate in these style challenges and hope there are many more to come.
