How to Cut Your Hair Into Layers

I'm not sure how this happened, but life got in the way of things and I just did not have the time to head to salon and have my once-a-yr haircut. Then again, I wonder if the last time I had my lady cut my hair, I really didn't like the way she did it. I love the look but I didn't like the methods she used such as thinning at my hair by cutting really short layers. I had told her to cut my hair bluntly and only with scissors which she did but used the scissors in a razor-like motion all over my head. I can just imagine my hair screaming out split-ends! Anywho, so this time, I've just decided to give my hair the cut with which I have more control over. Hope you enjoy!

Few tips and tricks to keep in mind:

1. Always cut your hair wet to ensure all hair are evenly cut
2. When cutting hair wet, please guage a little bit longer than your
desired length bc hair tends to bounce up after it's dried.
3. If this is your first time cutting, please have someone supervise and
just take baby steps to your desired length as to not cause any drastic
mistakes.
4. Make sure you are cutting with sharp scissors so that you don't get
split-ends from dull ones.

That's it for now. If I think of anymore, I'll come back to add. All in all, keep in mind that if you make a mistake, don't worry too much. Hair grows back and you can start all over again. Good Luck! =)

great vid! pretty helpful. I've just ordered myself the thinning scissor. Will try it with on the front layers like you did. I agree, this is way better than going to the salon!
